The role of the Nursing Assistant is invaluable in the healthcare industry. Under the

supervision of nursing and medical staff, nurse aides answer patient call bell, deliver messages, serve meals, make beds, and help patients eat, dress, and bathe. Assistants may also provide skin care to patients, take temperatures, pulse, and respirations, and help patients walk and get in and out of bed. Nursing assistants observe patients’ mental, physical, and emotional conditions and report changes to the nursing and medical staff.
